What is Pragna'25?

ප්‍රඥා'25 යනු කුමක්ද?

Pragna'25 is an inter-team quiz competition organized by the Royal College Sinhala Language and Literary Unit (RCSLLU). Held for the fourth time, this annual event returns in 2025 to challenge and celebrate the knowledge, critical thinking, and teamwork of our members.

Six teams of five students each will compete through multiple exciting rounds. The first phase involves all six teams, with the top two advancing to the grand final to compete for the prestigious Pragna Trophy 2025.

Competition Rounds

Round 01 · Phase 1
Multiple Choice Questions
9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. · All six teams compete in a timed MCQ round testing Sinhala language and literary knowledge.
Round 02 · Phase 1
Puzzle Round
10:30 a.m. – 11:10 a.m. · Teams solve literary puzzles and word challenges requiring creative thinking.
Round 03 · Phase 1
Individual Questions
11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. · 3 questions asked from each team member individually — knowledge under pressure.
Round 04 · Phase 2 — Final
Public Q&A + Presentation
2:05 p.m. – 3:20 p.m. · Top two teams face public Q&A and group presentation rounds before invited guests.

Project Objectives

Improve Sinhala Language Knowledge

Quiz questions deepen participants' understanding of Sinhala language, culture, and literary heritage.

Develop Critical Thinking

Fast-paced rounds train students to think clearly and respond quickly under pressure.

Encourage Teamwork

Each team must work together and support one another throughout the competition.

Boost Confidence in Public Speaking

Presentation rounds help students gain experience expressing their ideas before an audience.

A positive atmosphere where students compete with respect, enthusiasm, and team spirit.

Team members take on different roles and responsibilities, growing as future leaders.
